"BoJack Horseman" Season 4 from Netflix may see star Will Arnett as BoJack a little less lonely in new episodes from creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Certainly, the Netflix series is not about to turn peaches and light in Season 4 with the "Secretariat" star trying to leave LA behind. However, hope reigns that BoJack Horseman will have learned to be a little less self-destructive in the coming season.
As Uproxx points out, the "BoJack Horseman" series had been a string of sadness and disappointment for the former "Horsin' Around" star. However, one can't say that the Netflix character deserves pity for his current misfortunes. As Raphael Bob-Waksberg effectively and humorously laid out, BoJack Horseman was, and remains, master at undermining his own self. Not the least of these are the numerous relationships and opportunities that came his way during his heyday and the few loyal ones that remained.
In fact, "BoJack Horseman" had been largely the star's journey toward self-awareness after his star had faded. Interestingly, although BoJack himself is a cynical and toxic character, the Netflix series is not. Raphael Bob-Waksberg cleverly designed the series as a voyeuristic perspective of a man (or horse, as BoJack Horseman is anthropomorphic), who may need to take a long hard look at himself but is never without an olive branch of hope within reach.
Certainly one might see the death of Sarah Lynn (Kristen Schaal) as a point of no return for BoJack Horseman. Add to this the fact of botching up his apology to Penny Carson (Ilana Glazer), messing things up with Charlotte Moore (Olivia Wilde) and losing his fake Oscar's nomination in Season 3 - one might easily deduce that the Netflix star is nothing but a hopeless screw-up. Yet, Decider cites in an earlier interview with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, that the series will evolve in Season 4.
Part of this may come from BoJack Horseman's attempt to find life outside of LA. Raphael Bob-Waksberg promised that returning to BoJack Horseman's story when Season 4 airs will be very interesting. Netflix has yet to announce the firm premiere date of "BoJack Horseman" Season 4 in 2017.
