‘23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards’ List Of Nominees Include Viggo Mortensen, Emily Blunt, & Viola Davis; Check Out Snubs & Predictions Too!

The awards season is officially on in Hollywood as the "Screen Actors Guild" Awards recently announced its list of the nominees for the event that will took place in Jan. 29. 2017. Some of the suprising nominations went to Viggo Mortensen, Viola Davis, and Emily Blunt. Read on to find out the actors and movies that may win a SAG award soon as well as get information about films and celebrities that were snubbed.

Just days after "Golden Globe Awards" announced its list of nominees; the "Screen Actors Guild" announced their choices as well. The nominees from both SAG and Golden Globe have similarities with films such as "La La Land," "Manchester by the Sea," and "Moonlight" bagging the most nominations as posted in Time.

For the best actor category, the nominees are Casey Affleck, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Gosling, Denzel Washington, and surprisingly Viggo Mortensen. Meanwhile, Joel Edgerton for "Loving" is not part of this list as posted in LA Times. Casey Affleck though may be the one to bring home the trophy.

For the best actress category, the actresses vying for the award are Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, and surprisingly Emily Blunt. However, actresses Isabelle Huppert for 'Elle, Ruth Negga for "Loving" and Annette Bening for "20th Century Women" fail to get nominations. For predictions, the trophy will most likely go to Emma Stone or Natalie Portman.


For supporting actor, the nominees are Mahershala Ali, Jeff Bridges, Hugh Grant, Lucas Hedges, and Dev Patel. The most likely winner vote goes to Mahershala Ali. Meanwhile Michael Shannon of "Nocturnal Animals" was snubbed.

For supporting actress category, we have Viola Davis, Naomie Harris, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Williams and surprisingly Octavia Spencer. While Greta Gerwig from "20th Century Women" is not nominated, many are expecting Viola Davis to win this award.

The best film contenders are "Moonlight," "Manchester by the Sea," "Fences," "Hidden Figures," and surprisingly "Captain Fantastic." For some reason, the musical comedy, "La La Land" was snubbed.

Meanwhile, the film starring Casey Affleck is predicted to win in the best film category. The "Screen Actors Guild Awards" for 2017 will happen on Jan. 29.2017 to be aired on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m.
