'Rings' Trailer Released; Return Of Samara And How She Haunts Latest Victims Shown In Next Installment

Samara is set to return to the big screen via "Rings," which is the latest installment of "The Ring" franchise. Paramount Pictures produced "Rings" and it will center on the return of Samara and the new way she does to haunt her victims.

Samara is no longer haunting her victims through a text message, a VHS, or a chain message as she has ditched that. In the trailer of "Rings," her latest victim started to be haunted by her when she watched a video that was sent to her email. In the voice over of Samara, she said that the victim will die in seven days upon watching the video, Bloody Disgusting reported. The only way to lift the curse was to share the story of Samara by emailing the video to another person.

"Rings" leaning towards the use of technology comes after 14 years since the original "The Ring" was out on theaters. The brand new format of the movie hopes to touch younger viewers.

The new movie will also be featuring Johnny Galecki. At one point of the "Rings" trailer, Galecki was seen staring out of the window and the cursed well was seen flicker through the lightning. The image of Samara was also seen in that seconds-long part of the video showing "The Big Bang Theory" star. Alex Rose, Matilda Lutz, Bonnie Morgan, and Aimee Teegarden will also be featured in the new movie.

The plot of "Rings" centers on the young woman who got worried about her boyfriend who started to explore a dark subculture regarding the videotape that is said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. she then sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend, Rolling Stone reported.

"Rings" was written by David Loucka, Akiva Goldsman, and Jacob Estes. The first "The Ring" film was out in 2002 and a sequel was released in 2005. The latest installment of the franchise will be out this year.
