E-commerce giant Amazon has already listed the "Final Fantasy 7" remake for the PS4 on its website for a Dec. 30, 2016 release. The site has been taking pre-orders despite no confirmed announcement from the game's developer, Square Enix.
The company is said to still be prepping up for updates regarding "Final Fantasy 7" to warm up excitement for the highly popular game. Speculations are that new information on the "FF7" remake will be divulged on Sept. 30, when the company is set to release the latest installment of the franchise, "Final Fantasy 15."
'Final Fantasy 7' Remake For Release December 2016?
The listing on Amazon indicates that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake is priced at $59.99 for the PS4 and the words, "This item will be released on December 30, 2016," is highlighted in green text. Further below on the page, Amazon users state that this release is the "first full episode." Square Enix previously announced that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be split into several different installments, so there will be more than one release for "FF7" remakes.
However, one Amazon user cautions that the Dec. 30, 2016 date is only a placeholder. Meaning, the date could change eventually, especially if there is no new information or update from its developer/publisher.
'Final Fantasy 7' New Announcements From Square Enix
No doubt the release of the remake of "Final Fantasy 7" is a huge deal for many gamers and judging by the reactions when it was first announced in 2015, the anticipation and expectations are high. But Square Enix hasn't provided any more updates about the game since its initial unveiling, and gamers have been hungry for new information.
In an interview on KH Insider, Square Enix executive Tetsuya Nomura acknowledged that there has definitely been lack of updates on "Final Fantasy 7." But Nomura assured gamers that the company is preparing to deliver new details. "We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release," he stated.
Nomura clarified that announcements for "Final Fantasy 7" were deliberately few because the company always had the plan to deliver updates in "on go instead of dribs and drabs." He added that he's also excited about what they're going to reveal about "FF7" next, but as to when this will take place is up still up for speculation.
Christian Today assumes that Square Enix might be holding the next big announcement for "Final Fantasy 7" via an event, which will likely happen with "Final Fantasy 15's" release on Sept. 30. The hope is that Square Enix will deliver either a new teaser for "FF7," or announce opening a playable demo for the game, along with its actual release date.
Vine Report speculates that Square Enix might actually pull a big surprise in that the remake might actually be released on the same day as "Final Fantasy 15." For now, all eager fans can do is to sit, wait and hope that it will be all be worth it.
