"Wayward Pines" Season 3 from FOX and showrunner M. Night Shyamalan based on the original trilogy by Blake Crouch may lose original casting. While confirmation for Season 3 remains pending from FOX, cast members as Nimrat Kaur (Rebecca Yedlin) are now going into new projects. Will "Wayward Pines" return for its final instalment with the original returnees from Season 2 still intact?
Nimrat Kaur, who was recently cited by The Hollywood Reporter for lauding the new national anthem policy in Indian theaters, has signed up for a new web series. Television Post reports that the biopic production by ALT Balaji casts the "Wayward Pines" actress in a leading role. Interestingly, a 2017 launch is reportedly targeted by ALT Balaji.
If Nimrat Kaur is reprising Rebecca Yedlin for "Wayward Pines" Season 3, the Indian biopic timeframe may indicate that the trilogy completion will only launch by late 2017 or early 2018. If, however, Season 3 will launch with no dependency fans of Rebecca Yedlin should prepare for two possibilities, One is that Rebecca Yedlin may be played by a different actor in "Wayward Pines" Season 3. Two is that the Abbies (aberrations), led by Margaret (Rochelle Okoye), may have succeeded in infiltrating the human base and destroyed more than a few cryo-stasis chambers, including that of Rebecca Yedlin.
Parent Herald cites creator and co-executive producer Blake Crouch in revealing that when "Wayward Pines" Season 3 does happen, the humans - led by Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) and CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou) - will be on the brink of extinction. The Abbies themselves will have evolved and are anticipated to be even stronger and smarter than the Season 2 generation. Still, fans of the FOX series hope to see what may have become of Adam Hassler (Tim Griffin) and his blossoming understanding with Margaret.
Another resolution that fans hope for "Wayward Pines" Season 3 to bring is if Kerry Campbell (Kacey Rohl) really did die or if she was somehow saved by the Abbies. Air date announcements are outstanding given that Season 3 confirmation is still up in the air. But as mentioned earlier, "Wayward Pines" Season 3 may be released by mid to late 2017.
