‘Pokemon GO’ News & Updates: Niantic Updates Nearby Feature; Now Available to 'Most Regions'

Niantic has added a new feature to their hit game "Pokemon GO." This feature might make players happy as the game's Nearby feature has been expanded.

Since the launch of the Nearby feature earlier this year, "Pokemon GO" players are able to see which and how many Pokemon are nearby. Niantic received much criticism and backlash from players after removing the Nearby feature. Well, they had to deal with issues tailoring the Nearby feature to player's needs.

According to GameSpot, they have expanded the Nearby feature and is now available to "most" regions. So long as "Pokemon GO" is available, players can make use of the updated feature. In a blog post, Niantic said that they wanted to provide a better experience for "Pokemon GO" players whenever they are searching Pokemon in the real world. They have also tweaked the feature functions when there are only a few number of PokeStops.

"We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary," said the game developer Niantic.

Meanwhile, TechTimes reported that "Pokemon GO" Nearby feature was replaced by Sightings. The upgraded Sightings is very useful for players who reside in regions where PokeStops are only a handful.

"Pokemon GO" Nearby feature first launched in San Francisco and spread across other US market and in the world. "Pokemon GO" has a vast following of players and fans.

In other news, Niantic will release another major update for "Pokemon GO" this Dec. 12. More than 100 new Pokemon, including Pokemon genders, costumes, etc, are coming soon.
