"Daredevil" Season 3 from Netflix is expected to drop in 2018. But could the hit Marvel star Charlie Cox (Matt Murdoch) decide to become the next Batman? Also, will Season 3 find the Marvel hero turning BFFs with fellow Netflix star Jessica Jones?
Collider cites a TimesTalk interview with the original Daredevil, Ben Affleck where the Oscar-awarded star lauded the Netflix version of Daredevil. This was in stark contrast with what Ben Affleck felt about his turn in portraying the Marvel superhero. According to Ben Affleck, he hated his "Daredevil" version and felt he could get things right when he played Bruce Wayne in "Batman v Superman."
Indeed, Ben Affleck got as much rave from playing Batman as much as he received flack from "Daredevil." Luckily, Charlie Cox is indeed enjoying a better run as the masked Marvel hero. As Ben Affleck puts it, Netflix does indeed churn out cool materials.
Perhaps, Charlie Cox won't need to salvage his superhero repertoire by becoming the next Batman. As it is, his "Daredevil" series is neck and neck in popularity and viewership with fellow Netflix hit "Luke Cage." Netflix and Marvel will combine Daredevil and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) in their latest series "The Defenders," which is set for a late 2017 release.
Daredevil will not only be joining Luke Cage but also fellow Marvel superheroes Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). Speaking of Jessica Jones, Screen Crush cites photos on Super Hero Hype where she and Matt Murdoch are seen conferring a few times, possibly about a mission. According to Screen Crush, Jessica Jones and Matt Murdoch seem to be getting on well in "The Defenders" photos and were more BFFs than their official Twitter accounts would attest.
Netflix is scheduled to release "Iron Fist" on March 17, 2017. As earlier stated, "The Defenders" will follow also in 2017. 2018 will then be dedicated to "Daredevil" Season 3, "Jessica Jones" Season 2 and "Luke Cage" Season 2.
