"Wolverine: Logan" as the final run by star Hugh Jackman in his iconic character in the "X-Men" universe just became more costly for the film lead. Going after an R-Rating for Logan, Hugh Jackman reportedly agreed to a lower salary. Given the more selective viewership that "Wolverine 3" will have, the pay cut had been a necessary condition.
However, Hugh Jackman is determined to make his final film as Wolverine the best that it can be. This includes pushing the boundaries of censorship where scenes called for them. Although "Wolverine: Logan" promises a strong storytelling, this final sequel will also be palpably dark and violent.
GameSpot cites revelations in an interview by Aint' It Cool News with "Wolverine: Logan" director James Mangold. The Hugh Jackman film will be as R-rated as they come. In contrast, the earlier Wolverine films were both rated PG-13.
The media outlet cites Twitter reveal by James Mangold that the final Wolverine film will be blood and pain rather than the plastic texture of CGI effects. "Wolverine: Logan" will be as real as Hugh Jackman and James Mangold can manage to make this "X-Men" trilogy spinoff.
Wolverine is set to come face to face with Laura Kinney (Dafney Keen). This appearance is significant in the way of a legend passing on his torch to a successor. Laura Kinney is X-23, who had been cloned from Logan himself.
Earlier word from the producers behind "Wolverine" remarked that Hugh Jackman will be irreplaceable as the iconic X-Men hero. However, with the advent of X-23 his story may be continued without necessarily replacing Hugh Jackman. In a sense, "Logan" is a baptism of fire for his new heir of sorts.
Den Of Geek cites that "Wolverine 3" will set Logan against the villain Dr. Zander Rice (Richard E. Grant). This particular villain created X-23. Logan will give everything in his power -possibly even his life - to protect Laura Kinney from the clutches of Dr. Rice. "Wolverine: Logan" will be in theaters on March 3, 2017.
