The Brown family of the reality TV series "Alaskan Bush People" has not officially returned for Season 6 on the Discovery Channel. Is it renewed or canceled and instead will be replaced by a spin-off show called "Bushcraft Chronicles"?
Months after "Alaskan Bush People" Season 5 ended, there is still no update on whether the network is pushing through with a new season. But there is a new episode airing on Nov. 9, featuring the Brown family. It is titled "Appliances" and is part of the "Bushcraft Chronicles."
Another episode of the "Bushcraft Chronicles" is scheduled for Nov. 16, titled "Shelter." Matt Brown's fanpage on Facebook announced, "Looks like they may be airing a series of Bushcraft Chronicles episodes. We are very excited to see what our favorite bush family has put together for us!! Have a great day!!"
With the expectations of more special episodes as part of the "Bushcraft Chronicles," speculations emerge that the "Alaskan Bush People" might already be canceled, perhaps because of the claims that the show is not a reality series, but a fake and scripted docu-series. However, it could be that the "Bushcraft Chronicles" is a spin-off to test if fans would still tune in to follow the Brown family.
"Alaskan Bush People" documents the life of the Brown family who lives in isolation in the wild in Alaska. The family consists Billy, the patriarch, and his wife Ami. They have seven grown children, namely: Matt, Bam Bam, Gabe, Noah, Rain, Bear and Snowbird. Discovery Channel said they are interesting because "they are unlike any other family in America."
The family seldom goes out in the civilization and spend their life in the wilderness for about nine months without seeing an outsider. They currently live in Copper River Valley, where they relocated after their former cabin was seized and burned down.
"Alaskan Bush People" currently airs a marathon rerun. On Wednesday, Nov. 9, the show will air from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next day. The special episode "Appliances" airs at 9 p.m.
